Heidi Hu Ames - Founder & President

 

As founder and President, Heidi leads Myland USA in a dynamic and continually evolving business environment. In the early 1990s, few companies seriously considered manufacturers in China as potential suppliers for high precision components and products. But guided by determination, perseverance, and a deep understanding of the business benefits that clients can derive from sourcing in China, Heidi has nurtured the growth and development of Myland USA. Clients speak with admiration for her business sense, attention to detail, and integrity in serving their needs.

 

Throughout her professional career, Heidi has been a U.S. / Chinese Liaison managing dozens of licensed products and intellectual properties. Heidi has personally handled and also provided guidance to clients through the process of identifying and qualifying licensees, negotiating licensing agreements, and cultivating long-term relationships. She has also assessed and brought justice to violating parties in China by using her knowledge of the regulations and culture, skills in negotiation and problem-solving, connections with government, and legal service channels.

 

Heidi is fluent in Chinese, and is recognized as an authority on China and particularly doing business in China. She has held a variety of professional roles including University Professor, Public Relations Officer, Mediator, Negotiator, Training Instructor, and especially China Expert and a pioneer in trading with China. Heidi now leads Myland USA to assist companies with their importing & sourcing as well as exporting & market development activities in China, and also leads Myland’s consulting services division.

 

Heidi earned a Bachelor of Arts from the Sichuan Normal University, majoring in British and American Literature with a heavy emphasis on languages. After she moved to the U.S., Heidi also underwent an intensive three-year marketing & sales development program. Heidi has also studied international trade and business, supplemented by many years of successful business experience. In her free time, Heidi enjoys cooking, entertaining large parties of guests and friends, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
