Marketing Strategy Development

Myland USA has developed many years’ experience working with companies to help them develop a winning marketing strategy, and later execute on those strategies. Our process is both straightforward and rigorous:

  1. Start with an assessment of the business, and an evaluation of the market

      potential. Are these compatible?

  2. Establish a set of aggressive but also realistic market penetration goals,

including beginning to explore and evaluate appropriate strategies based on

the goals and tools available (and needed).

  3. Advise our client company on the nuances and business marketing impacts of

Chinese Culture. Many of the best-laid plans have gotten off track due to

      cultural differences.

  4. Create budgets based on the strategies and tactics chosen.

  5. Formulate a timetable for the execution of strategies, including a set of

measurable goals and deliverables to hold the strategy accountable.

  6. Form the right team to execute on the strategies developed.

One of the key topics Myland USA works with companies to settle is answering the question of which organizational and operational structure may be needed to best serve the goals articulated in the marketing plan. From experience, it is often most effective for a company to start its China marketing strategy with a clean slate.

For companies new to China, Myland USA will frankly ask if the appropriate homework has been done to properly inform a decision. For instance, do you fully understand and appreciate the totality of opportunities and risks that lay before you? Some companies are considering a China marketing strategy, but have not adequately researched this opportunity. In these cases, Myland USA will come in to supplement the work that has been done, and inform our clients with both the business and market data, as well as the impacts of culture on the overall success of the effort.

For companies already in China who have run into difficulties, presumably you acknowledge that you need help. Hiring someone in-house to take over the China operation may appear to be a possible solution, but this could lead to more problems. While it is too late to start from the beginning with a clean slate, Myland USA can be relied upon to identify and efficiently and effectively solve the problems wherever they may be. For political reasons, closing down an operation or applying the term “turnaround” may not be palatable, but Myland USA can attack each challenge and convert them to opportunities.
